本文对山区小流域泥沙在沟槽中搬运的若干特征进行了分析。山区小流域搬运泥沙的能力远大于大河，并与地质环境有密切的关系。作者在对是移质和推移质泥沙搬运特征分析的基础上对山区泥沙运动的特殊现象--泥石流及其形成的力学机制问题进行了探讨，最后给出了各类泥沙输移方式的图示关系。
