新地理之趋势,颇注重人地关系之研究,人地关系之方面甚多,就中最基本而重要者,当莫过於人口之分布;一地人口之有无多寡,除极少数之例外,均视各该地自然生产力之强弱而定;一地自然生产力之强弱,固亦视人力经营之方式而有所不同,然此亦为人地之间彼此相互影响之结果。

Chuyung is a district which lies 50 kms. to the east of Nanking. It is a hilly region with Maoshan and Wuchishan in the eastern and northern parts respectively. Only in the narrow northern fringe and the southwestern part there are some small alluvial plains.The area of the whole district is 1,444 sq. kms. and the population is 279, 500 according to the census of 1933.
