石英是一种分布广泛,硬度大的稳定矿物。石英脱离母岩,在不同介质以不同方式搬运和沉积的过程中,塑造一定的外形,表面留下特定的机械成因和化学成因的微结构形痕。

Abstract

Fiue spherical quartz sands with high roundness are widely extended in Jidong Plain. They are carried away to many places compound with sediments from the Luan-he River, but mainly concentrated on the second terrace of Luanhe River in the Yan-shan Mountainous region and the alluvial fan plain of the Late Pleistocene. The largest buried depth is about 180 m.The upper Luanhe River is called as a Shandianhe River. A larger Whenshandak desert on the Xei Mongolia Plateau to north of the river is an origin of spherical sands and quartz grains with surface covered by eoliau dish-shaped pits.The sands in desert are leapt to south by wind force and are transported by Luan-he river and dropped into water. Owing to trasportation in a long distance, abrasion and depositing, the surface of quartz sand has impacted by dense V-shaped pits in a collision.
