THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE QUASI-TWO WEEKS OSCI-LLATION OF ISOBARIC SURFACE'S GEOPOTENTIAL HE-IGHT OVER CHINA AND ITS RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE SUMMER MONSOON STRENGTH AND THE RA-INFALL OVER THE NORTHERN PART OF CHI-NA FROM JULY TO AUGUST

Abstract: In this paper, the data of 850hPa to 200hPa isobaric surface's geopotential heights available at 08h from 46 upper air observation stations from July to August. over China are analysed by using the methods of spectrum analysis and frequency band filtering, etc., which show the ‘characteristics of the quasi一two weeks a}scillation's strength, structure and movement of iso-baric suface's geopotential heights and also its relationships with the summer mosoon strength and the rainfall over the northern part of China from July to August.
